This user name could plausibly be created in ignorance of scripture, I think, but even if it wasn't (I assume it wasn't), I would recommend informing the user of the problem, holding a reasonable discussion about it, and then giving the user a few days to change the name. Also, I notice that for some reason this page has been protected, so I'll unprotect it so it'll be available for discussion. [[User:Everyking|Everyking]] 05:39, 21 March 2006 (UTC)

AfD

If you put any other legitimate article up for deletion, I'll block you for vandalism and disruption. SlimVirgin (talk) 17:23, 20 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Not a legitimate article. Person is not well known enough to be on Wikipedia. I have the right to do this. I can BE BOLD. Do not make threats. --IAMthatIAM 17:26, 20 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Because you submitted the same article again to AfD, you've been temporarily blocked for disruption and vandalism. If you feel the block is unfair, you're welcome to e-mail me to discuss it, using the link on my user page. SlimVirgin (talk) 17:36, 20 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I need help to learn how to protest what the user above did. I have been making legitimate corrections and being bold and that user just blocked me without discussion. I will look it up shortly but this is just wrong. --IAMthatIAM 17:52, 20 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Found it...

This user is asking that their block be reviewed:

IAMthatIAM (block logactive blocksglobal blockscontribsdeleted contribsfilter logcreation logchange block settingsunblockcheckuser (log))

Request reason:

Please provide a reason as to why you should be unblocked.
Change {{unblock}} to {{unblock | reason=your reason here ~~~~}}

Notes:

  • In some cases, you may not in fact be blocked, or your block has already expired. Please check the list of active blocks. If no block is listed, then you have been autoblocked by the automated anti-vandalism systems. Please remove this request and follow these instructions instead for quick attention by an administrator.
  • Please read our guide to appealing blocks to make sure that your unblock request will help your case. You may change your request at any time.
Administrator use only:

If you ask the blocking administrator to comment on this request, replace this template with the following, replacing "blocking administrator" with the name of the blocking admin:

{{Unblock on hold |1=blocking administrator |2=original unblock reason |3 = ~~~~}}

If you decline the unblock request, replace this template with the following code, substituting {{subst:Decline reason here}} with a specific rationale. Leaving the decline reason unchanged will result in display of a default reason, explaining why the request was declined.

{{unblock reviewed |1=original unblock reason |decline = {{subst:Decline reason here}} ~~~~}}

If you accept the unblock request, replace this template with the following, substituting Accept reason here with your rationale:

{{unblock reviewed |1=original unblock reason |accept = accept reason here ~~~~}}

I have been making legitimate corrections and being bold and that user just blocked me without discussion and called my edits a bunch of names that don't seem to fit according to the definitions. The user didn't even assume working with me in good faith. I need some help!--IAMthatIAM 17:56, 20 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Your username has been blocked indefinitely because it is inappropriate (see our blocking policy for more information: specifically users are requested not to use names of politicians, military or religious figures or events). You are encouraged to create a new account and contribute to Wikipedia under a more appropriate username, and in a constructive manner. See Wikipedia:Username for guidance on selecting an appropriate username. You may also edit Wikipedia without creating an account. You are not allowed to edit Wikipedia under an inappropriate username. If you would like to discuss the block, you may edit your talk page or email the administrator who blocked you.

Due to Wikipedia's mechanism for enforcing name changes, your IP address may be temporarily blocked. Unless you have also been engaging in vandalism or impersonation of another user, we will remove that block as soon as possible—if this doesn't happen within an hour or so, please email an administrator and explain the situation (see the list of administrators).

If you want to keep the contributions from your old account for your new one, leave a note on Wikipedia:Changing username. This can only be done before you create the new one. If you wish to create a new username, please visit Wikipedia:Changing username for information.

That doesn't make sense? What is inappropriate about my username? --IAMthatIAM 18:00, 20 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It's a Biblical name of God; see the story in the Book of Exodus. -- Karada 18:16, 20 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Could you help me then? I can't request a change in username if you or Slimvirgin above have me blocked. Your block is legitimate I see. I didn't realize I couldn't name myself that. Would IAMthatIWAS be okay? I am new so any help would be appreciated. I was treated unfair above. Could you help me with this? --IAMthatIWAS 18:22, 20 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I canged my signature to save Wikipedia from database stuff per my reading of it. --IAMthatIWAS 18:11, 20 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

You might want to read Wikipedia:Changing username for more information on how to get your username changed -- alternatively, you may want to simply create another account with another name. -- Karada 23:06, 20 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
