I saw your comment on the John Mew page saying you removed some weasel words. Not sure what you removed, but sounds like a good move. The page itself still seems to be incredible biased. Factual sentences with reliable primary and secondary references have been removed. It is fine for a wikipedia page to present the good and the bad, but what was noticeable was that only the good was deleted. When I reinstated those sentences I was accused of having a vested interest. I have no connection to the subject of the page. I think the editor responsible may have some bias on this matter because they were so quick to delete well sourced information and replace it with pejorative sentences. I don't want to get into an editing war with them, but I would like to find a way of making the page more balanced. Any suggestions would be most welcome. @Acirsa: I agree that there are problems and it's on my watchlist. I'm a bit tied up for the rest of the week but I'll have a go at it when I can Jimfbleak - talk to me? 05:21, 27 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

AXS GUARD

Hi Jim. You recently deleted Draft:AXS_GUARD. I update the User:Gebruiker tvb in rigard to COI - I am an employee of the company. Is there any way to recover the contents of the draft? And if so, is the content reasonably acceptable or not at all? In my humble opinion it was short, written neutral, referenced and not especially promoting/advertising, at least not more than other Next-generation_firewall products, like Microsoft_Forefront_Threat_Management_Gateway or Barracuda_Networks? —Preceding undated comment added 10:29, 26 August 2019 (UTC)

@Gebruiker tvb: renowned for... and bolding every mention of your products isn't particularly neutral, and some at least of your sources aren't independent third-party publications. A list of products and some history also doesn't show that it meets the notability requirements I linked on your talk page. Also see What about article x?. Also note that many articles would have been accepted before the notability guidelines were made stricter. I'll probably be able to restore as an edited version, assuming that there is nothing copied from your website, but it's a bank holiday here, so not sure if it will be today Jimfbleak - talk to me? 11:04, 26 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Jimfbleak: Hi Jim, thank you for your reply, well appreciated. I see your point, that phrase was even about another product/company. Maybe focused on... would have been better. I would happily remove any excessive bolding, it wasn't intended as to extra promote the product (or any other products), but rather inexperience as an editor. I did not include any logo, only included a link to the product website in the extra info section. No text from the product/company website is copied/reused on the draft page. The links used in the references are articles from news papers, and press releases from (now) another (independent) company. I could try to find more independent references. For example the product appeared a few times in Data News magazine over the years, e.g. [1]. Some partners refer to us on their website [2] or [3], as to prove the product exists for a long time already and is well-established in the market. The main reason for creating this page is to serve as a reference from Comparison_of_firewalls, and List_of_router_and_firewall_distributions, as to inform any reader that other Linux based Internet Security appliances exist, with proprietary license (unlike pfSense), yet with Lifetime vendor support. Any forthcoming day that suits you to make the restore is fine, thank you. 12:51, 26 August 2019 (UTC)
@Gebruiker tvb:,you don't need to ping me on my own talk page. The problem you have is that there is no indication of how your product meets Wikipedia:Notability (software), and your references are press releases and other company generated material. I've restored as a cleaned up version, I suggest that you take a copy as it may well be chopped again Jimfbleak - talk to me? 13:09, 26 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Jim, apologies for my ignorance again. Thank you for the prompt restore action. I made some changes to the draft, as to remove the history section completely, and keeping only independent references - 2 - like SC Magazine, who reviewed the product (in English). Any suggestions to further improve the draft are very welcome. 14:48, 26 August 2019 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Gebruiker tvb (talkcontribs)

Request for reconsidering the speedy deletion decision and request to recommend to publish the article

Dear Jimbleak,

I recently tried to publish an article for Intouch Solutions Inc. I did not specify that I work for the company, although I am not getting paid for creating this page. I am doing it on my free time and thought it would be fun, as the company is pretty large and does not have a wikipedia page. I was using many third party sources and trying to keep it as factual as possible. I believe that with further editing it could become a resourceful page. Please reconsider or provide some action steps I may take to get the article back in my sandbox if possible? thanks! Jbrown3423 , please place your messages at the bottom of a talk page and remember to sign them. I've fixed your COI declaration. It's a holiday here today, but I'll take a look when I get time Don't be tempted to recreate in the interim. Jimfbleak - talk to me? 12:52, 26 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Jbrown3423, despite what you say, much of the article is unsourced or sourced to unacceptable sources such as company press releases and interviews with your management. You need independent third-party sources, not the company talking about itself. The text is highly promotional and includes an awards section that is both unsourced and non-notable. Promo includes led the groundbreaking creation of the industry's first virtual and augmented reality app... I fell in love with the company.. This vision... gained significant notoriety in the industry... Following his entrepreneurial spirit and so on. You would do better to start from scratch since if I restore I'll chop a lot of the content. Let me know if you wish me to proceed, but note that I'm pretty busy this week in RL anyway.

Dear Jimfbleak, thank you for getting back to me so quickly on vacation. I appreciate your feedback. thanks for taking the time to point out the shortcomings in my writeup for Intouch. I will go back to the drawing board and try again. you've given me some great points to work from. Bare with me, this is my first time attempting to publish an article. Cheers. COI

Hello Jimfbleak, Thanks for the awesome job you are putting in here. My response to this notice posted on 05:40, 27 June 2019 (UTC) (i believe it was for cmapit article) is that i am doing it on neutral grounds that is based on my intention to put as many legitimate and internationally-recognized nigerian or nigeria-based companies on the map. i have not received any compensation for the work nor did i contact the owners of the company before writing the article. i do understand that my writing style was not neutral enough and needs to be brushed up as i was convinced the article was proper to be deleted according to wikipedia policies. i will revisit the article once again much later when i have more neutral mentions of them online. Thanks again for your work, Jim. 2dmaxo (talk) 14:28, 26 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

You deleted my page

I created a page on wikipedia about a local medical initiative in Jordan and you deleted it, the draft was titled Electronic Health Solutions - Jordan Alialawneh (talk) 15:21, 26 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Alialawneh, not sure what you are asking me, since I've already posted guidance on your talk page. Your draft had no independent third-party sources, since the text was a mixture of unsourced or sourced only to your own website. It was littered with spamlinks, when there shouldn't be any external links in the main text and only a link to your main website in the "External links" section. It's all about what you sell, with no independently verifiable facts to show how you meet our notability criteria, and it's promotional in tone with mission statements and visions instead of facts and unsourced promo like widely recognized as a premier, tightly-integrated Computerized Physician Order Entry (CPOE) syste... It is considered to be the most important module and the hub of all other packages. It also seems to be a significant copyright violation of their website, which is marked EHS | All Rights Reserved © 2019, so can't be used here. Please read the guidance I've already posted on your talk page, which you must follow, we are not a free advertising service. Jimfbleak - talk to me? 05:38, 27 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Jimfbleak Thank you for the feedback, all understandable points. this is the first time I use wikipedia and I'm beginning to familiarize myself with it. The page was about an initiative in Jordan for public health data management, it is not a private company, the language is promotional which I can change, and apologies for the copy rights infringement. I will remove all external links in the text and refer to them in their respective sections, and I will check for a third party source to verify the info. Thank you for your time

Quick Deletion of Page

Hi Jim! You deleted my page titled "Ernest Annie Nwoye ". I am new to Wikipedia and am trying to figure out how to follow all of the guidelines -- would you please advise on what steps I would need to take in order to get the page approved? I appreciate the help! he is a high profile individual and meets the guidelines for Wikipedia:notability. Austine647 18:33, 26 August 2019 (UTC)Austine647[reply]

Incidentally, a typo on my way here led me to User talk:Jimfbleak/. Funny how some trivial errors hang around...this has apparently existed since 2006. Vanamonde (Talk) 04:03, 31 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Vanamonde93, thanks. All sent now, let me know if any problems. I've also sent the ref format I use, but obviously you don't have to use that Jimfbleak - talk to me? 06:27, 31 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Deleting the User page

Deleting my user page as a... “Unambiguous advertising or promotion: self-written vanity page”? Seriously man, “a vanity userpage” :DDD ? Not to mention – promotion of what? I don't remember there was anything there besides my contact information (if anyone ever needs it), and some basic userboxes. You may be overreacting. Honeyman (talk)
