==I Didn't Edit Other People's Messages==
I did not edit other people's messages and apparently you just edited out at least three of mine. Return them or I go straight to arbitration (I'm perfectly serious). I've been lied about by Moriori and Raul654 and sent an unsolicited obscene message by DESpiegel, so you picked a VERY bad time to toy with important messages of mine. Hi, and welcome. Please add a new section when starting a new topic, and please use ~~~~ to sign your comments.

I may add section headers and attribution for comments, and I may adjust margins and alignment for clarity.

Sheep Vote

In response to your comment about the Sheep Votes article and my response to it in the author's talk page: I'm not sure if you referring to the current version or the version before I removed the attack. I'm going to save myself a post and assume you meant the latter (although I do not believe this is the case).

In it, it singled out a specific user and their voting policies in an article in the Wikipedia namespace. While this may not be the more extreme form of attack (using profanity and the like) I'd say it comes close to being just as bad. Specifically condeming the actions of a user (consistently voting in a certain way without justification), and then associating such actions with Grumpiness and eccentricity is an attack. There are recourses for disagreements with a user, but this was not such an effort. It was an attempt to make a point.

"In the past, many contributors have found their Wikistress levels rising, particularly when an issue important to them has been handled in a way they consider unfair. The contributor may point out inconsistencies, perhaps citing other cases that have been handled differently. And the contributor may postulate: "What if everyone did that?" - a common rhetorical technique. These devices may not persuade for the reasons cited above.

In this situation, it may be tempting to illustrate the point using either parody or some form of breaching experiment. For example, the contributor may apply the decision to other issues in a way that mirrors the policy the contributor objects to. These activities are generally disruptive: i.e., they require the vast majority of nonpartisan editors to clean up after the "proof". Many consider such "point-proving" acts to be vandalism."

This isn't the same exact situation as cited, but it is still an obvious disruption. The article has to be removed and debated... etc.

Sorry, if my tone comes off as hostile, as I am not upset. =) -- BMIComp (talk, HOWS MY DRIVING) 05:48, 22 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I'm just curious, which revision were you referring to? Thanks. -- BMIComp (talk, HOWS MY DRIVING) 06:10, 22 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

DYK

Updated DYK query Did you know? has been updated. A fact from the article Soleus muscle, which you recently created, has been featured in that section on the Main Page. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently-created article, then please suggest it on the "Did you know?" talk page.

Thanks again.

Always a pleasure to hear from you. I tell you, there's nothing quite like a user I've never heard of coming from seemingly nowhere to ream me out for trying to help. Sigh...

Anyway, I thought you deserved an answer. Feel free to drop me an e-mail. All the best, Lucky 6.9 16:53, 26 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

hi, I've just finished the initial wikipedia: WikiProject Preclinical Medicine page. Please take a look. I also added some cross references between our pages. All in all, I think it's going well. PhatRita 00:11, 27 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for Support Saving User Photo

Thank you for the vote to keep my user page. I was banned here a year ago because a tiny minority of admins decided I wasn't suitable, well now I'm back, and I don't plan on getting banned again. It only took this guy Raul654 a few hours of me being reinstated before he started attacking me with his pals. I'm a lot more defensive now than when I started more than a year ago, that's for sure. Once again, thanks for helping me keep my user photo! Plautus satire 15:09, 29 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Newset Articles

I have seen that the Picture of the day section has been put on the front page in place of the Newest Articles section. Three things: First, have the newest articles section been moved? Second, is there still a link somewhere that tells us what the newest articles are, and third, if we keep the picture of the day section on the main page then why do we have it also on the community portal? If that newest articles section is in fact gone, maybe instead it can take the place of the old picture of the day section. If you can, talk to the other admins about this. I would appreciate it because I always thought looking at the newest articles were interesting. Rentastrawberry 05:05, July 31, 2005 (UTC)

Adminship

Hi Knowledge Seeker. Thanks for the very nice note on my talk page, and sorry for the delay in answering. I am also currently rather busy with other work, and cannot visit Wikipedia as often as I wanted to. Congratulations on becoming a doctor by the way. About your Adminship: You're a good admin, and I am very glad that I nominated you. Somehow, when I first had a contact with you, I really liked your calm style, trying to bring common sense and neutrality into a heated discussion. Unfortunately, back then you had only about 600 edits, so I decided to wait till you got 1000 edits. And luckily, your nomination went through with no problems at all. You are only the second admin I nominated (the other one is user:Lupo, also a very good pick). Keep up the good work, and don't get stressed out too much about it. (I recently had a tough phase while trying to defuse a POV dispute, taking a lot of stress and doing a lot of reverts. That wasn't too pretty.) Anyway, best wishes and happy editing -- Chris 73 Talk 10:10, August 2, 2005 (UTC)

MCOTW

While I appreciate your concern, the fact is that at this point my continued involvement would merely prove the point that Edwardian was making. Clearly, he and I suffering from a personality conflict, the end result of which would have been my not haivng the wherewithal to continue collaborating just as indicated. I think it's best for me to withdraw, as I did, and let it become a sleeping dog, at least for the time being. siafu 13:43, 9 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Help

Hey KS. How are things? I was wondering if you could help me with an image issue. I've been preparing some images for the article I'm working on for H5N1. Hemagglutinin is a pretty important issue, so I've been looking for nice images of it. I found an excellent one on a lab website that, given the way it was displayed and what the text of the fair use policy says, I believed was fair use for a Wikipedia article. Of course, I was hoping for something a little more "free," and thought I'd check at those wonderful open access databases at PubMed. And I found a treasure trove. So I uploaded an image as a .gif file to the same page as the earlier, fair use pic. However, the gif file image quality is poor. Do you mind deleting that page in its entirety? The addy is Image:Hemagglutinin.gif —Encephalon | ζ | Σ 06:55:13, 2005-08-12 (UTC)

Sorry, I should add I've already uploaded a jpg version that's great. You can see it in the Hemagglutinin article.

Yes please, KS. The gif page. all revisions. Thanks!—Encephalon | ζ | Σ 07:27:11, 2005-08-12 (UTC)
KS, so sorry to bug you again. Would it be too much trouble for you to delete the following images which are not required? The last two I will replace with more suitable ones soon. Nothing links to these pages. Image:Asthma screen shot.JPG, Image:Hemagglutinin lateral.jpg, Image:Neuraminidase.jpg. Much thanks—Encephalon | ζ  07:55:57, 2005-08-18 (UTC)
Just orange tagging your page in case you missed this, KS. Tough call nights, or something? Best—Encephalon | ζ

Hello and thanks for your message. I have explained to the user Edwardian that i do not wish my real name to be shown on here. However, he keeps posting my name on his talk page, so i am forced to keep changing it back. He is the reason that i asked my user name to be changed. I am sorry but everytime he will be writing my real name on his talk page or anywhere else, i will simply keep changing it. So you may want to tell him to stop instead. I will not stop until he understands that he cannot use my real name on here. --etronic 11:32, 13 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Asthma Footnotes

KS - Got your message. I removed the footnotes because I was just looking for consistency. I understand there to be two styles of annotation - either do inline references, with a footnotes section, or just have a "works cited" section, were all sources are listed alphabetically, like you would see in the Encyclopedia Brittanica. So, I removed the footnotes because I figured we were sticking with the latter format. If we have some inline references, we should have all references, and I feel like that's a bit cumbersome for a Wikipedia article. Let me read up on WP policy and see what the norm is. Involuntary Wikivacation

Thank you very much for your kind words. I've learned from the example of others so many times, it is nice to know someone could take something positive from my style. Yes, I've had to drastically cut back on WP time. I got busted at work a while back. Written counselling statement, the whole nine yards. I won't be here much until I get cable modem at home. Then I'll be skipping sleep to patrol Recent Changes and New Pages.  :-) Again, thank you. Take care. SWAdair | Talk 20:18, 15 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

SPUI

Hi KS, thanks for the note a while back. I don't get a chance to get on line much, thus the delay in answering you. Regarding SPUI, I saw a polite request you left on his talk page. Can I ask, what was the result? Jennet 04:58, 18 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Adminship

Hello,

I don't think I'd like to be nominated immediately, and I would like to wait one or two weeks and spend some more time before the next nomination. I haven't been very active lately, but I'll spend some time now on VfD's and RC patroling. You can go ahead and nominate me, but after one or two weeks. Thanks. — Stevey7788 (talk) 21:10, 18 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

The previous notices placed by individuals onto the 'WikiProject Clinical medicine' page's sections of articles in progress or for peer review all got moved into an archive (hardly makes them current notices). The MCOTW discussion page has discussd having a list of pages at an inbetween stage of development, namely where others are sought, if having a specific interest, to help with a topic. I decided to be bold and create the subpage Wikipedia:WikiProject Clinical medicine/Collaboration. Please comment, praise or criticise at will  :-) David Ruben 01:27, 19 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Psychotherapy comment

Thanks for the kind note and information. I am new at this and still trying to find my way. I am in the middle of writing up an extensive article on the pre-history of psychotherapy that will blend into psychology in America up to William James, and then eventually head on from there. Like I said in my post, I will be putting it on my page for perusal and comments before hand. So, maybe in the near future we will run into each other again.
