Speedy deletion of Image:52carver.jpg

A tag has been placed on Image:52carver.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section I4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an image with an unknown source or an unknown copyright status which has been tagged as such for more than 7 days, and it still lacks the necessary information.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on [[Talk:Image:52carver.jpg|the article's talk page]] explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Thank you for uploading Image:AF1.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

Adoption offer

Hello N55NE, I saw that you wanted to be adopted and thought that I might offer myself. I have been on Wikipedia for nearly twelve months, in which I have made over 2,200 edits, created three articles (two of which have been displayed in the 'Did You Know?' section of the Main Page), and improved an article to GA status among other things. How about it? Thanks

That would be great. Thank you.
I am having some trouble with updating the pictures I tried to add.
I am also about the "merit badges" for user activities...I make them at work too.
Finally, I have an article that didn't meet publication standard I am trying to PDF and upload, so I could use some advice there.

N55NE (talk) 14:09, 10 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi N55NE, I am vey sorry I have not got back to you yet, I have been very busy outside of Wikipedia. Could you give me a couple of days before I respond to you, I am still very busy. Thanks a heap, and BTW thanks for letting me adopt you :) HarrisonB - Talk 02:51, 24 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • I think this will clarify a little for you:
Alright, now if you want to update a picture, just upload a new file and give it a better name. You will get an automated message, just ignore it.
Those merit badges are called barnstars, have a look at WP:BARN and it will tell you about them.
What do you mean by PDF and upload?

Orphaned non-free media (Image:52carver.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:52carver.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Image use too difficult

Please delete this perfectly good picture File:MPT.jpg which has open use from University as I cannot determine what you want in copyright section.

I think I will take my business elsewhere. It is too hard to use wikipedia.

  • Wait, don't leave; if you stay I can refer you to someone who is an expert in image uploading. HarrisonB - Talk 02:16, 3 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

OK

How can I get some help with this Public Release picture?

Hi N55NE!
We thank you for uploading Image:MPT.jpg, but there is a problem. Your image is currently missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. Unless you can help by adding a copyright tag, it may be deleted by an Administrator. If you know this information, then we urge you to add a copyright tag to the image description page. We apologize for this, but all images must confirm to policy on Wikipedia.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks so much for your cooperation.
