Giving DYK credit for Philipp Julius, Duke of Pomerania on behalf of BorgQueen

It's a nice article, and I know that I shouldn't cast stones because I know no German whatsoever, but, can you go back and look again at phrases where the English word makes the meaning unclear. To give the example of the word that made me give up an attempt to edit it into standard English, what did he do with those mercenaries? Invade the town? quarter them on the town? Intrude could imply either event.[[User:Historicist|Historicist]] ([[User talk:Historicist|talk]]) 13:13, 2 August 2009 (UTC)

Fritz Neumayer

Dear Skäpperöd, Fritz Neumayer is ready for DYK. BTW, why did you erase everything from your talk page? You could have created an archive. AdjustShift (talk) 17:57, 15 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Yep, it has over 1,500 characters. AdjustShift (talk) 18:12, 15 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I've nominated the bio; see Template talk:Did you know#Articles created.2Fexpanded on July 11. AdjustShift (talk) 21:16, 15 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Bios of multiple notable German politicians are missing. Multiple bios are stubs. I think we can combine together, and ameliorate the bios of German politicians. AdjustShift (talk) 21:32, 15 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Nice picture, but...

Dear Skäpperöd, why are your hollyhocks not disfigured by rust? Novickas (talk) 18:37, 15 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Ah, I see. [1] Great article, never saw that particular Burne-Jones before. Novickas (talk) 19:37, 15 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hans-Joachim von Merkatz

Dear Skäpperöd, I've started the bio of Hans-Joachim von Merkatz. Can you help me with translation? I used the source "Munzinger Online".[2] There are plenty of sources in German. If it can be developed, it will be ready for DYK. Have a nice day! AdjustShift (talk) 23:37, 15 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Barnstar

Dear Skäpperöd, thank you very much. Hans-Joachim von Merkatz's bio was only a stub; you turned it into a solid bio. Your contributions to Germany-related articles are solid, so I've decided to award you a barnstar.

The Working Man's Barnstar
I award this barnstar to Skäpperöd for his high-quality contributions to Germany-related articles. AdjustShift (talk) 16:47, 16 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Best wishes, AdjustShift (talk) 16:47, 16 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Ref no. 16

Dear Skäpperöd, see the "References" on the bio of Hans-Joachim von Merkatz. See reference number 16:

Schildt (1999), pp.56ff, esp.p.57

What is "ff"? And I think "esp." is needless. AdjustShift (talk) 22:44, 16 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Skäpperöd, "Schildt (1999), pp.56-57" is enough.[3] AdjustShift (talk) 15:34, 17 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

dann konnen wir fachtsimplen--Woogie10w (talk) 12:33, 30 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I have a copy of the Overmans article, the figures are correct. You can check the Bundesarchiev original, it is not available in the US My offer still stands.

A third party can send me an E mail at berndd11122@yahoo.com. I will send the text in a PDF file. Since my work has been questioned, I prefer having the source checked and my posting verified.

Special Project For You

Overmans cited two sources for his figures that are unavailable in the US. They should help us determine the details behind his figures. If you get a chance, check with the German library system to see if they are available.

  • Gesamterhebung zur Klarung des Sicksals der deutschen Bevolkerung in den Vertreibungsgebieten, hrsg.Vom Kirchlichen Suchdienst in Munchen.
  • Vertreibung und Vertreibungsverbrechen 1945-1978. Bericht des Bundesarchivs vom 28 Mai 1974. Archivalien und ausgewälte Erlebenisberichte, Bonn 1989

At this point, we are looking at a synthesis of the figures by Overmans and Harr. The original source would be preferable for our work--Woogie10w (talk) 19:49, 31 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Duke of Pomerania

It's a nice article, and I know that I shouldn't cast stones because I know no German whatsoever, but, can you go back and look again at phrases where the English word makes the meaning unclear.
