2020 Citrus Bowl

The 2020 Citrus Bowl is a college football bowl game that will be played on January 1, 2020, with kickoff scheduled for 1:00 p.m. EST on ABC.[2] It will be the 74th edition of the Citrus Bowl, and will be one of the 2019–20 bowl games concluding the 2019 FBS football season. Sponsored by financial technology company Vrbo, a vacation rental marketplace owned by HomeAway, the game will be officially known as the Vrbo Citrus Bowl.

Teams

The game will be feature the Michigan Wolverines from the Big Ten Conference and the Alabama Crimson Tide from the Southeastern Conference (SEC). This will be their fifth meeting against each other, with the all time series tied at 2–2. Alabama won the most recent meeting against Michigan 41–14 in the 2012 Cowboys Classic in Arlington, Texas.[3]

Michigan Wolverines

After finishing the regular season 9–3 (6–3 in conference), the Wolverines were selected to their sixth Citrus Bowl appearance. This will be their 48th bowl game appearance, the 11th highest total all-time among FBS schools.[4]

Alabama Crimson Tide

After finishing the regular season 10–2 (6–2 in conference), the Crimson Tide were selected to their third Citrus Bowl appearance.[5]
