The 2020 Winter Youth Olympic Games (Template:Lang-fr; Template:Lang-de; Template:Lang-it; Template:Lang-rm) will be the third edition of the Winter Youth Olympics; a major international multi-sport event and cultural festival for youths to be celebrated from 09 to 22 January 2020 in the tradition of the Olympic Games during the XXXII Olympiad.

Bidding

Bids were due by 28 November 2013, the candidates cites were selected on 5 December 2014 and Lausanne was elected host city on 31 July 2015.[1][2]

The Games

Sports

The Youth Olympic Games will feature 8 sports and 16 disciplines. Ski mountaineering and women's Nordic combined will feature for the first time in an Olympic event. A mixed-NOC 3-on-3 ice hockey tournament and a women's doubles event in luge will also be contested for the first time.[3]
