Novak Djokovic is the defending champion.[1]

Carlos Alcaraz will reclaim the ATP No. 1 singles ranking from Djokovic at the end of the tournament unless Alcaraz withdraws and Djokovic defends his title. Since Alcaraz is not defending any points from the 2022 tournament, he is guaranteed to surpass Djokovic simply by playing one match.
