The 2020 FIBA Under-17 Basketball World Cup (Bulgarian pronunciation: [2020 Световна купа по баскетбол FIBA до 17 години]) will be an international basketball competition held in Sofia, Bulgaria. It will be the sixth edition of the FIBA Under-17 Basketball World Cup. Sixteen national teams will compete in the tournament.[1] Bulgaria previously bid for the 2018 edition but lost to Argentina. This will be the first time Bulgaria has hosted a FIBA world tournament. It was originally scheduled to take place between 4 and 12 July 2020, but it was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic to 15 to 23 August 2020.[2] On 12 June 2020, FIBA postponed the tournament again and options will be examined to play in 2021.[3]
