Early life

The son of Thomas Taylour, 6th Marquess of Headfort and Hon. Elizabeth Nall-Cain, he goes by the nickname Chris.[1] He has two younger sisters, Lady Rosanagh Elizabeth Angela Mary Taylour (b. 1961) and Lady Olivia Sheelin Davina Anne Taylour (b. 1963).[2]

His paternal grandparents were Terence Taylour, 5th Marquess of Headfort and, the former, Elise Florense Tucker. His mother, a goddaughter of Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother, was the only daughter of Ronald Nall-Cain, 2nd Baron Brocket.[2]

His early education was at Harrow School, a boarding school in Harrow on the Hill, London, England. Later, he attended the Royal Agricultural College in Cirencester, Gloucestershire, England.[1]

Career

He then began work as an estate agent as a partner of Bective & Davidson.

On 21 October 2005,[3] following the death of his father, he succeeded to various titles: 7th Marquess of Headfort, 8th Earl of Bective, 8th Viscount Headfort, 6th Baron Kenlis, 10th Baronet Taylour, and 8th Baron Headfort.[1]

Personal life

On 17 October 1987, He married Susan Jane Vandervell, eldest daughter of C. Anthony Vandervell of Burnham.[1] Together with his wife Susan, the Marquess of Headfort has had four children:[1][4]

  • Thomas Rupert Charles Christopher Taylour, Earl of Bective (b. 18 Jun 1989)[2]
  • Lord Henry James Anthony Christopher Taylour (b. 18 Apr 1991)[2]
  • Lady Natasha Jane Rosanagh Taylour (b. 6 May 1997)[2]
