Hrabyně (German: Hrabin) is a municipality and village in Opava District in the Moravian-Silesian Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 1,200 inhabitants. It lies approximately 20 km north-west from Ostrava and 13 km south-east from Opava.

Administrative parts

Village of Josefovice is an administrative part of Hrabyně.

History

The first written metion of Hrabyně is from 1377.[2]

Culture

The traditional Hrabyňská pilgrimage takes place every year on 15 August.

Facilities

The rehabilitation centre in Hrabyně is widely used by the people from the entire country. Patients who have problems with their locomotive organs are expertly taken care of there.
