Shaurya Aur Anokhi Ki Kahani (transl. Shaurya and Anokhi's story) is an Indian television drama series that premiered on 21 December 2020 on StarPlus.[1] The series is a remake of Star Jalsha's Bengali series Mohor.[2] Produced under DJ's a Creative Unit, it stars Debattama Saha and Karanvir Sharma.[3]

Plot

Shaurya belongs to an affluent family in Chandigarh. He is a modern-day misogynist and believes that women should be restricted from studying and working. He has such a nature because his mother left him in his childhood unwillingly, to pursue her career in order to aid and support her old aged parents, while he was influenced by his uncle and aunt forming him to what he is now. On the other hand, Anokhi is an ambitious and headstrong girl, willing to make a mark on the society. Having a completely different ideology, she feels that the society is patriarchal and women should strive to life on their own terms.

A reluctant Shaurya asks her to choose between her married life and Cambridge. Shagun chooses to follow her dream while an infuriated Shaurya breaks the engagement. On the other hand, Anokhi studies in the same college in which Shaurya's mother, Aastha is a professor, who's highly supportive towards Anokhi. She participates in a debate competition where she speaks up about the need of women to become independent. Although she wins, much to the extreme infuriation of her father who's hell bent on getting her married .

Finally, Anokhi's marriage is fixed with an orthodox and alcoholic person, Monty much to Anokhi, Babli and Rama's reluctance. Anokhi's in-laws permits her to continue her studies after marriage at Toronto, Canada. But, the true colours of the family are revealed when she overhears Monty's conversation wherein he addresses wives as 'Glorified Servants' and reveals his unwillingness to allow Anokhi to study. Anokhi tries to persuade her father to stop her marriage, but the latter locks her up in her room. Later, Babli and Rama get to know about Monty's ugly side. They decide to free Anokhi from this forced relation and helps her to run away. After many hurdles, Anokhi finally manages to escape her marriage and reach Aastha's house. Aastha helps her get admission at Sabherwal Institute of Arts and Commerce Institute (SIAC) by requesting her estranged husband, Shaan.

Shaurya bombards Anokhi with questions, but she cracks the interview with flying colours. The confidence with which she answered all the question, astonished all panel members. Later, Anokhi get tensed as she has to arrange for her Transfer Certificate and fifty thousand rupees for her admission. Babli tries to help Anokhi by lending her gold bangles, which she can mortgage. But, Vineet foils their plan and insults them. Shaurya accuses Anokhi of theft and refuses to provide her admission. But, Aastha proves Anokhi's innocence and thus after several hurdles, Anokhi finally gets admission in SIAC.
