Đinh Thanh Trung (born 24 January 1988) is a Vietnamese footballer who plays as a midfielder for Hồng Lĩnh Hà Tĩnh.

In 2017, he won the Vietnamese Golden Ball award when he helped Quảng Nam FC win the national championship.[1][2][3]

Club career

Hanoi ACB

In January 2012, Trung was released from Hanoi ACB after an internal conflict in where he refused to play for the club in an April V-League match.[4]

Quảng Nam

Trung joined V.League 2 side Quảng Nam in 2013 and helped team won their first V.League 1 title in 2017, their fourth season at V.League 1.[5]

International career

Dinh Thanh Trung was first called up to the Vietnam national football team for the 2010 AFF Cup[6]. He made his debut for the team when he came on as a substitute in a 7–1 win over Myanmar in the opening match.[7][8][9] Four years later, he participated in his second AFF Cup under the guidance of coach Toshiya Miura.[10]

In 2016, in a match against Singapore at the 2016 AYA Bank Cup, he scored in extra time to help Vietnam win 3–0, which was also his first goal for the national team[11][12][13][14]. At the 2016 AFF Cup, Thanh Trung played in 5 matches, the team reached the semi-finals before losing 3–4 on aggregate to Indonesia.[15]
