The 1987 UEFA European Under-16 Championship was the fifth edition of UEFA's European Under-16 Football Championship. France hosted the championship, during May 25 and June 3, 1987. 16 teams entered the competition. Although Italy won the final match against the Soviet Union, UEFA withdrew Italy's title, because they had played Roberto Secci, inscribed with an irregular document. No European title was awarded.[2] The top three countries qualified for the 1987 FIFA U-16 World Championship in Canada.
^ abIt was then ruled that Roberto Secci had not been eligible to play in the competition, and UEFA decided that the title of Under-16 champions would not be awarded this year. "Italy success overruled". uefa.com. 1 January 2006. Archived from the original on 5 January 2013. Retrieved 2009-03-19.
