"Hero" is a single performed by David Crosby from his third studio album Thousand Roads. The recording features Phil Collins, who produced it, co-wrote the song with Crosby, sang backing vocals and also played drums, keyboards, and drum machine. It is not, however, a duet, as Crosby sings lead throughout, while Collins is only heard vocally at occasional points on harmony. The song "Fare Thee Well" is a non-album track.[1]

Collins released a demo version, featuring only Collins on vocals, as a B-side to the "We Wait and We Wonder" single release.
