Velké Hoštice (‹See Tfd›German: Groß Hoschütz) is a village in the district of Opava, Czech Republic. It belongs to the greater Moravian-Silesian Region and is located in the northern tip of the micro Hlučín Region, close to the border with Poland. It has around 1,700 inhabitants. The 16th century Château found in Velké Hoštice and its estate was once part of the Moravian-Bohemian Counts of Chorinsky Barons of Ledske dynasty.
History
Since 1742 the village belonged to Prussia after Maria Theresa had been defeated.
