After graduating, he spent the summer in Chicago working at a casting office during the day, while taking acting and improv classes at The Second City in the evening. Shortly afterwards, Chen attended the Actors Studio Drama School at Pace University and moved to Brooklyn, New York, where he began his career with a television credit on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.[4]
