Babasaheb (title)
Babasaheb (Devanagari: बाबासाहेब, IAST: Bābāsāhēb) is an honorary title and given name. "Babasaheb" is a Marathi phrase which means "Respected Father" (Baba = father and Saheb = sir). This epithet is commonly applied to B. R. Ambedkar.[1]

B. R. Ambedkar's followers and the Indian people started respectfully addressing him as "Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar", since sometime between September–October 1927, because millions of Indians consider him a "great liberator".[2][3]
