Spichern was a German supply ship of World War II .
She was originally the Norwegian tanker Krossfonn , captured by the German auxiliary cruiser Widder in June 1940.[ 1] On 26 May 1941 she supplied 2660 tons of fuel to the German cruiser Prinz Eugen during Operation Rheinübung , two days after Prinz Eugen separated from the battleship Bismarck .
She was scuttled in Brest on 31 August 1944, raised and put back into Norwegian service post-war.[ 1]
