Skehana (Irish: Sceachana) is a small village in County Galway, Ireland. The name Skehana derives from the Irish Sceith eánach meaning "place of the whitethorn".
It is a half parish which is contained within the diocesan parish of Killascobe. An annual Arts Festival was held there in the late 1980s and early 1990s.[citation needed] A hurling club exists which, while having some successes over the years, has become stagnant in later years.[citation needed] Two public houses previously existed in the parish, though one has since closed.[citation needed] The ruins of an Anglo-Norman tower house, Garbally Castle, are located immediately to the west of the local national school.
