Wiggles World at Six Flags Great America

History

Before being named Kidzopolis, these themed areas were named Wiggles World from 2007 until 2010.

  • 2006: On December 12, 2006, Six Flags released their plan for 2007. It detailed new corporate alliances with Thomas the Tank Engine, The Wiggles, Tony Hawk, and among several others.[1]
  • 2007: Six Flags Great Adventure,[2] Six Flags Great America,[3] and Six Flags New England opened Wiggles World at their parks.
  • 2008: Great Escape opened Wiggles World at their park.[4]
  • 2009: Six Flags Fiesta Texas opened Wiggles World at their park.[5]
  • 2010: In late 2010, Six Flags began the process of removing licensed theming from attractions. They terminated licenses with Thomas the Tank Engine, The Wiggles, Tony Hawk, Evel Knievel, and Terminator. This resulted in all Wiggles World theming to be removed and rides to be renamed to suit the new Kidzopolis theme.[6][7] Six Flags Great Adventure is the only park that didn't transform its Wiggles World to Kidzopolis. Their themed area however transformed to Safari Kids.[8]
  • 2015: For the 2015 season, Six Flags New England rethemed their Route 66 attraction to have a wild safari theme under the new name 'Wild Wheelz.' This allowed for the car ride to fit in with the area more as the old, antique Route 66 theme was out of place for the vibrant and colorful children's theme that the Kidzopolis area has.
  • 2019: Great Escape removed its Krazy Kars, Krazy Cups, and Splish Splash Zone after the 2018 season to make way for its Hurricane Harbor expansion, effectively closing the entire Kidzopolis area. The old theater is now fenced off, leaving ZoomJets, now renamed to Island Air Adventures, as the only remaining attraction. Island Air Adventures, operates as a water park attraction.
  • 2020: At the beginning of the 2020 season, Six Flags Fiesta Texas started rebranding the kids area.
