Public Health Scotland is a national special health board of NHS Scotland, jointly sponsored by the Scottish Government and COSLA which launched on 1 April 2020.[1]

Its formation is a result of the reorganisation of the public health landscape in Scotland outlined in the 2015 Review of Public Health and further developed in the 2016 Health and Social Care Delivery Plan.[2][3]
