Bishunpur is a village and postal address in Shahganj, Jaunpur district in the state of Uttar Pradesh, India [1][2][3]. Bishunpur was donated by a Kashyapa gotriya Kshatriya Hindu landlord to Nivaji Baba (which means one who is honoured with the name of Baba, or 'father') who is still worshiped by people of the village, who was a Brahmin originating from Gorakhpur. It is known as the 'holy village', referring to perfection in Brahmanism in modern as well as past times. It is a village have internal relationship with the village Ramapur from ancients days while.

The Vyasa-Gautam gotra Saryupareen Brahmin inhabitants of the village follow Lord Vishnu in whose honor the village name was kept Bishunpur in ancient days. The village protector god is Lord Shiva who worshiped as kuldevata from ancient days. The People of the village are referred to as Vyashi, Mishra Brahmins.
