Parth Samthaan (born 11 March 1991)[1] is an Indian television actor known for playing Manik Malhotra in Kaisi Yeh Yaariaan and Anurag Basu in Kasautii Zindagii Kay.

Early life

Samthaan was the first runner-up of Pantaloons Fresh Face 2012. [2]

Career

Samthaan started off by being a part of episodic series like Life OK's Savdhaan India, MTV India's Webbed, Bindass's Yeh Hai Aashiqui, and Zing's Pyaar Tune Kya Kiya. His first lead role was Prithvi Sanyal in Channel V India's Best Friends Forever?.

From 2014 to 2015, he portrayed Manik Malhotra in MTV India's Kaisi Yeh Yaariaan opposite Niti Taylor.[3] His character was reinstated in the second season.[4]

Samthaan signed his first Bollywood debut, Googly Ho Gayi in 2016.[5] The inauguration of the film was held on his birthday, 11 March 2016 at Juhu Hotel.[6][7][8] Samthaan has also attempted playback singing for his second song Jind Meri.[9][10] In 2017, he signed to star in Nishaa, a music video opposite his KYY co-star Charlie Chauhan. In 2018, he played Manik Malhotra yet again in Voot's Kaisi Yeh Yaariaan 3. He once again starred in a music video called Tu Jo Kahe.

Since September 2018, Samthaan has been portraying the lead role, Anurag Basu opposite Erica Fernandes in a reboot of Star Plus's original series called Kasautii Zindagii Kay. The role gave him critical acclaim and made him a popular household name.

In 2019, he played Faizal Alkazi in ALT Balaji's Kehne Ko Humsafar Hain 2 opposite Pooja Banerjee. Additionally, he starred in his third music video, Aaakhri Baar, opposite Shakti Mohan. [11] In 2020, he will star in ALT Balaji's Mai Hero Boll Raha Hu.

In 2015, Samthaan was placed 11th in Eastern Eye's Top 50 Sexiest Asian Men List.[12][13]

In 2018, he was ranked 3rd in Times list of 25 Most Desirable Men on Television.[14]
