Assolna is a large village in the Salcete sub-district of South Goa district, in the state of Goa, India.
Geography
Assolna is located at 15°11′N 73°58′E / 15.18°N 73.97°E. It has an average elevation of 10 m (33 ft).
It is the hometown of historian Prof. Jose Juliao S Almeida who wrote "Aldeia de Assolna," a book in Portuguese about Assolna, Goa in the 19th century and further back in time.
