Funakaye is a Local Government Area of Gombe State, Nigeria. Its headquarters are in the town of Bajoga. Funakaye LGA is bounded in the east by the Gongola River and Lake Dadin Kowa, beyond which lie Yobe State and Borno State. It got her name from Fula language widely spoken in the area. It is made of the dominant Fulani tribe as well as other minorities.

It has an area of 1,415 km2 and a population of 236,087 at the 2006 census.
