Overview

The Americana complex

The Americana complex consists of three sections: The Americana Manhasset, The Gate at Manhasset, and 1900 Northern Boulevard.[2][3][4][5][6]

Eastern half: The Americana Manhasset

The eastern half of the complex is the main, Castagna-owned section of The Americana Manhasset complex, and includes more than 60 retail stores and restaurants.[2] The Americana Manhasset portion of the complex stretches from Searingtown Road at its east end to a few stores west of the main entrance at its west end, where the complex continues as The Gate at Manhasset.[4]

Western half: The Gate at Manhasset & 1900 Northern Blvd

While located in the same complex, the western half of the Americana complex consists of two, independently-owned segments that are known and referred to by shoppers and even some stores and websites as the complex's western half: The Gate at Manhasset and 1900 Northern Boulevard.[3][4][5][6][7][8][9]

The Gate at Manhasset

The segment known as The Gate at Manhasset includes a large section of the building located between the complex's main entrance and The Gate (a road which traverses the complex's parking lot).[4] The Gate at Manhasset and The Americana Manhasset are physically connected to one another.[3][4] However, as aforementioned, they are usually regarded as being one large complex; Google Maps even regards the stores in The Gate at Manhasset as being part of The Americana.[6]

1900 Northern Boulevard

Located on the west side of The Gate, the 1900 Northern Blvd segment of the complex is located at the complex's western edge.[5] It was once home to the only Daffy's location on Long Island.[7][8]

History

Developed by Gerace & Castagna, The Americana Manhasset opened in 1956, and was re-designed in the 1980s.[2]

In the past, the Americana was home to one of the first B. Altman branch stores.[2]
