Michigan's 86th House of Representatives district (also referred to as Michigan's 86th House district) is a legislative district within the Michigan House of Representatives. In Ionia County, it's located in Belding, Easton Township, Ionia, Ionia Township, Orleans Township, Otisco Township and part of Berlin Township. In Kent County, it's located in Ada Township, Bowne Township, Caledonia Township, Cascade Township, Grattan Township, Lowell, Lowell Township, and Vergennes Township.[2] The district was created in 1965, when the Michigan House of Representatives district naming scheme changed from a county-based system to a numerical one.[3]
