Zeolite, activated carbons are well known adsorbents, to adsorb adsorbate, they are not adsorbate. refer to zeolite article for evidence. and the key different between conventional cooling and adsorption cooling lies in the use of liquid refrigerants and gaseous adsorbate respectively.
