Alfedena is a comune and town in the province of L'Aquila in the Abruzzo region of central Italy. It is located in the Abruzzo, Lazio and Molise National Park, in the upper Sangro valley, near the Monti della Meta chain.

The town was founded by the Samnites, who called it Aufidena. It houses a prehistoric necropolis discovered in 1882 (7th century-3rd century BC). In Alfedena's territory is also the fortification of Curino, which commanded the Sangro area.
