Black Bag is an upcoming American spy thriller film directed by Steven Soderbergh and written by David Koepp. Starring Cate Blanchett, Michael Fassbender, Regé-Jean Page, Marisa Abela, Naomie Harris with Pierce Brosnan and Tom Burke,

Plot

From Director Steven Soderbergh, BLACK BAG is a gripping spy drama about legendary intelligence agents George Woodhouse and his beloved wife Kathryn. When she is suspected of betraying the nation, George faces the ultimate test – loyalty to his marriage or his country.

It was announced in January 2024 that Steven Soderbergh was set to direct the film, with Cate Blanchett and Michael Fassbender set to star.[2] In March, Regé-Jean Page, Marisa Abela, Naomie Harris, Pierce Brosnan and Tom Burke were added to the cast.[3][4][5]

Filming began in London on May 6, 2024.[6]

Release

In January 2024, Focus Features acquired distribution rights to the film in a negative pickup deal.[1] In July, the studio set a March 14, 2025, release date.[7] The film will be released two months after Soderbergh's Presence.
