The Bolivia national football team played a total number of eighteen international matches in the 1996 season under new manager Dušan Drašković, including six games at the 1998 FIFA World Cup qualification. Drašković was replaced by Antonio López Habas after a 0-0 tie against Peru on 1 September 1996.
