Inclusions in renamed category[edit]

Hi Moondragon21, just leaving a comment here for further clarity after a reverted a couple of your good-faith edits: of the articles we have about structures in the region, only one building so far has been (partially) destroyed, the Tinmal Mosque. There may be an argument for it not being "destroyed" per se but I think, reasonably speaking, it counts. I note that LaundryPizza03 has recently removed it too, so maybe they disagree?

The other monuments that were in this category previously have suffered some damage but are all clearly standing. (I've added some information where possible in the articles themselves, a short while ago.) Putting them under this renamed category would just mislead and cause confusion, and wouln't be supported by the article content. Thanks, R Prazeres (talk) 15:35, 2 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Contested deletion[edit]

This page should not be speedily deleted because many photographs concern destroyed buildings. The main page should be more relevant if some pics moved to than category. Moreover, the distractions in Tinmel historic mosque could be an subcategory here. --Lucyin (talk) 18:14, 2 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Status of category[edit]

The status/name of this category keeps changing. It was created as "Category:Buildings damaged by the 2023 Marrakesh-Safi earthquake", then moved to buildings "destroyed" by the earthquake per this request, then converted by Moondragon21 into a redirect back again a new "buildings damaged" category, leaving this talk page behind at a different name.

Can we clarify what the final status of this category should be? Keep or delete? Under what name? I haven't opened a new CSD because I don't have feelings about it either way, but depending on whether it's "damaged" or "destroyed", it could include many articles or none. Any feedback appreciated. Hi, I too don't have strong feelings either way (the difference between destroyed and damaged seems minor). I started the category as in line with Category:Buildings and structures destroyed by earthquakes so I presumed it would make sense to start it as a number of notable buildings had been affected.
