Chothe people

The Chothe tribe is one of the Old Kuki group of clans found in some parts of Manipur, India. Some historians and anthropologists have erroneously recorded the Chothe as the Purum of India.

Population

According to the 1991 census, the population of the Chothe tribe in Manipur was 2,571. In the census of 2001, it was 2,676.
