Claremont is a town in Saint Ann Parish, Jamaica.

The district of Claremont was first called "Finger Post" until it was renamed in honour of the first house built there, "Clermont House". The countryside around the town has for centuries been home to the wealthy landed gentry, and even today is dotted with elegant homes and estate houses. The wealth associated with the area can be seen in the architecture and plan of the town; the shops of Claremont High Street exhibit remarkable architectural detail as well as very refined finishing. The special allure of Claremont is not to be found in the town itself, but rather around the town, in the rolling hills, estates and lush meadows. There are many interesting and worthwhile driving routes and detours, with beautiful homes set against breathtaking views.
