History

The station's formerly known as 99.5 RF - Rhythm of the City, which since its establishment in 1970's has claimed air wave supremacy by storm when Dr. Rogelio Florete through the advice of his mother Doña Salome Florete, has started to helmed the day-by-day operations by Bombo Radyo in 1976.

On April 22, 1994, Bombo Radyo Network rebranded the station as 99.5 Star FM, using the English medium and it changed its language of medium to Ilonggo the next year when the Masa format started. The new format played OPM songs, along with foreign songs and news every Monday to Saturday, and they also provide news updates on a regular basis throughout the day. The station started the "masa" trend in FM stations. Presently, the station plays classics every Sundays and the new hits and OPM every Monday to Saturday.

In 2016, Star FM Iloilo and its provincial stations launched its new logo and tagline, "It's All For You" using the English/Filipino language of medium. The station flipped from mass-based to its well-crafted playlist of particularly love songs, whether Classic hits, mellow hits and soft rock music, to make it quite similar to 96.3 Easy Rock and 979 Home Radio in Metro Manila and 96.3 WRocK in Metro Cebu and added its format was Contemporary hit radio (Top 40) and OPM songs of the present.
