David Harris is an Australian actor and singer. He is best known for his musical theatre performance as Chris in the Australian production of Miss Saigon and Fiyero in the Australian production of Wicked, which toured Asia (Singapore and Seoul). In March 2012, it was announced that he would play Emmett in the Australian production of Legally Blonde (The Musical) alongside Lucy Durack as Elle Woods and Rob Mills as Warner.[1] Legally Blonde closed after a successful Australian tour in July 2013.

In September 2013 Harris was involved in Stephen Schwartz triptych produced by Magnormos. He appeared as Noah and Adam in the Australian Premiere production of Children of Eden, a once off performance.[2]

Later in 2013, Harris joined Michael Ball and Lea Salonga for Boublil and Schonberg's Do You Hear the People Sing concert in Shanghai China in November 2013 (5 concerts scheduled).

Harris will again join Lucy Durack, this time for a concert "Wickedly Broadway" in 14 March 2014 Twilight at Taronga Zoo, Sydney.[3]

Harris has also regularly performed at the Rob Guest Endowment Concert, Light the Night concert. In 2012 he performed in Hats Off.

Do You Hear the People Sing - Shanghai

Harris was reunited with Lea Salonga and Michael Ball again for this special concert in Shanghai at the end of November 2013, which coincided with the 15th anniversary of the Shanghai Grand Theatre. They were joined by Amanda Harrison and Marie Zamora. This concert celebrates the works of Boublil and Schonberg. The concert was a success and was received with great reception [14] Salonga, Harris and Zamora intend to reunite for a benefit concert on 29 and 30 January 2014 in Manilla[15] to aid the victims of Typhoon Haiyan (Yolanda) which devastated the region in November 2013.

Film and television

Harris appears as Dreamy Solo in the 2001 made for television movie of South Pacific starring Glenn Close and Harry Connick Jr.[16]

Harris's other television credits include Rescue Special Ops, Blue Heelers, Neighbours.

In Dec 2012, Harris joined his Legally Blonde co-stars to perform at Carols In the Domain.
