Heerapura is historical region near Ajmer Road in the Jaipur district of the Rajasthan, India (not to be confused with Heerpura,Heerawala in its neighbourhood). The Ahir (heer) community due to migration from Behror, Tijara, Khetri, Rewari, Mahendragarh in Ahirwal (Hirana) after battle of Battle of Nasibpur finally reached at the barren and not inhibited lands of Heerapura whose surroundings were covered with large forests of Khatipura (now an urbanise area).[1]

The people of Ahir (heer) community refer themselves as migrants from haryana (the Ahirwal area is known as Haryana(Hirana) even formation of modern state of Haryana).

The Ahir (heer) due to there superior farming skills started agriculture on barren lands and make it prosperous agricultural lands.

Geography[edit]

The Historical heerpura lost its name beacuase of urbanisation and formation of new colonies and an area in its neighbourhood got the name of Heerpaura,Heerawala (Jagdamba nagar) whose migrants are also Ahir (Heer) who came later.

The Histroical Heerapura include area from Ajmer road to Gandhi path and its surrounding.
