Catégorie:Article utilisant une Infobox The Sorbonne University Faculty of Science and Engineering is a collective of tertiary establishments belonging to Sorbonne University. It is mainly based on the Jussieu campus, now referred to as the Pierre-et-Marie-Curie campus, and it hosts around 22,000 students.

History[edit]

The Jussieu campus is build on the site of the former Abbey of Saint-Victor, which was founded in 1113 by philosopher and theologian William de Champeaux. Closed in 1790 and demolished in 1811, its only remnants are parts of the foundation, which were used as a cellar between 1813 and 1955 for a now-defunct wine market, and are still visible today under the Esclangon Building.
