The Backrooms is an upcoming American science fiction psychological horror film directed by Kane Parsons (in his feature directorial debut) from a script by Roberto Patino. It is based upon the urban legend and creepypasta of the same name that was made into the YouTube series Backrooms created by Parsons. The film is scheduled to be released in the United States by A24.

People find themselves warping, or "noclipping", at random into a mysterious series of rooms.

Production

On January 7, 2022, Kane Parsons began uploading a video series, titled Backrooms onto his YouTube channel Kane Pixels; the concept being based on the internet urban legend/creepypasta, the Backrooms.[1] In February 2023, a film adaptation was announced as a joint-production between A24, Chernin Entertainment, Atomic Monster, and 21 Laps Entertainment, with Parsons directing and Roberto Patino writing.[2]

Release
