Thea Green Lundberg (born 28 April 1993, Risør) is a Norwegian actress and home health nurse. She is known for her role as "Line Wisting", the daughter of the main protagonist "William Wisting" in the Norwegian thriller police television series Wisting (2019-), and as the human rights activist "Frida Engø" in the political thriller TV series Occupied (2015-2020).[1][2]
Biography[edit]
Thea Green Lundberg was born and raised in the town of Risør located in the southern part of Norway. As teenager she went to Dahlske videregående skole (upper secondary school) 2010-2012, which specializes in courses like music, dance, and drama. After graduation she failed getting into Teaterhøgskolen in Oslo, and went for a three month long stay in Los Angeles studying the drama skill technique chubbucks. Back in Norway she continued doing theatre and music until she decided to begin a study for a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Studies and Theatre at the Oslo Metropolitan University in 2015. She acted in several Norwegian short films before she got a more significant role in the second season of the TV series Occupied in 2017. As the new acting career required her full attention, she decided to quit her bachelor degree study in Oslo.[3][4][5]
Even though "Frida" wasn't among the main characters of the Occupied series, this role made Lundberg more visible within the Norwegian film industry as she established a good connection with the television director, later the same director on the police television series Wisting. She had now become part of a valuable professional film network.[6]
Wisting[edit]
Thea Green Lundberg went to audition for the Wisting series and got her significant role as Line in December 2017. The 24-year-old actor couldn't believe her luck:
- It was the world's best Christmas present. I will remember that date forever. - All through Christmas I felt like I was going around lying to people that I had got the role. Imagine if I dreamed, then?! It was completely strange to feel that it wasn't true.
Despite an underlying feeling that it was all a dream, the thinking began — the pondering of how to step into the role of a crime journalist and become "Line Wisting".[7] In Wisting Lundberg played along with established actors like Sven Nordin, Carrie-Anne Moss, and Mads Ousdal. The Viaplay series was broadcast in the Nordic countries and later by the BBC.[8]
Miscellaneous[edit]
In addition to her acting career Thea Green Lundberg works as a home health nurse in Risør Municipality.[9] Together with costume designer Cecilie Windtwood she is also leader of Risør Ungdomsteater (a theatre for Young Audiences), and in 2021 she explained why she accepted the job:
- Back in the days (as a teenager) I was among the founders of the youth theater in Risør, so it has meant a lot to me. It feels very right when this development continues.[10]
Lundberg is also lead vocalist in the Norwegian country band Godagmand. The band released an EP and a single in 2015.[11]
