Wadoora is a large Village located on a bank of Puhroo river, 8 Kilometres away from Bus stand Sopore.It is the part of Sopore Sub division.It falls under jurisdiction of the Tehsil Zangair of Sopore division. Administrative headquarter and Postal head office is Sopore. Wadoora comes under catchment area of Police District Sopore.Sopore is also medical headquarter of Wadoora. The village is surrounded by Puhroo river on three sides. Sopore-Kupwara National Highway runs through the Village. It is at a distance of 25km from district headquarter Baramulla .

Education: Wadoora has a literacy rate of 83 percent as per 2011 census, which makes it most educated village of Sopore,and one of the top educated Villages of Kashmir.

The Village has produced several administrative officers,Doctors and engineers who are serving the society in their capacities.

The Educational institutions in Wadura are:

1: SKUAST Wadura:Erstwhile Govt Agriculture College Wadura Sopore, it was founded in 1960.It is spread over an area of 1800 kanals,making it the largest varsity campus of Kashmir.The college offers various courses in agriculture sciences. Besides, its Campus is a local tourist attraction due to it's scenic beauty.

2: Apna Public High School Wadoora: Formed in 1985.It is one of the oldest schools of Sopore. This school has been main source of education not only for Wadura, but for the whole area. Its alumni have achieved several great milestones in their respective fields.

3:National Educational Trust Wadura, Sopore

Economy

Apple cultivation is the main source of livelihood for the people of Wadura. The Village produces near 50000 Apple boxes on anual basis.

Wadoora is divided into three sub areas ;

1: Wadura Payeen: This comprises the majority of Village.

Main Market, Bank,ATM,Panchayat and Hospital are located here.

Agriculture college is also located here.

Besides, it has River View Park,which if upgraded,has the potential to become one of the best amusement parks.

2:Wadura Bala: Small area seperated from Wadoora Payeen by Agriculture College.

Wadoora has total of 14 Mosques, of Which 11 are located in Wadoora Payeen.

Significant localities of Wadoora Payeen are: War Mohalla, Hajam Mohalla, Mukdam Mohalla, Muslim pora, Poshbag, Haribagh, Mustafaabad, Newcolony, Bunglawari, Qazibagh.

Markazi Jamia Masjid ,Eidgah ,Park is located in Hajam Mohalla,while Panchayat, Govt High School,Mahraja hut and village gate of SKUAST is located in War Mohalla. Civil Society Wadoora Payeen,a voluntary public organisation to raise voices pertaining to the development of Village was founded in 2019.It is first of its kind in whole division.
