Per Wikipedia:Notability (video games), sequels usually should have their own article.
To add to this, Maxis is a large company and The Sims is a large franchise that has well-surpassed notability guidelines. As this installment has been confirmed by Maxis and immediately gained traction, it is unlikely that notability for this project will disappear, especially as development continues.
