Human rights commissions
[edit]There's the National Human Rights Commission (Mexico) and then there's the es:Comisión de Derechos Humanos de la Ciudad de México. If those are the two being referenced in the "reactions / government" section then it wouldn't be correct to refer to the latter as a local branch of the former (they're separate, autonomous, etc.). But the source says "Comisión Nacional de Derechos Humanos del Distrito Federal", the name of which sounds contradictory from the get-go. So all bets are off in the absence of deeper investigation and sourcing. Whatevs. Moscow Mule (talk) 16:00, 15 July 2024 (UTC)
- Unaware of the latter... phrasing seems to be referring to a local office of the former, at least to me. ZionniThePeruser (talk) 22:39, 15 July 2024 (UTC)
- Perhaps it'd be best to remove its mention? ZionniThePeruser (talk) 23:03, 15 July 2024 (UTC)
- Removing it might be the simpler course of action. But, if it helps, here's a Jornada article from way back when that does have a quotable quote from the "Comisión de Derechos Humanos del DF". And here's an article from Proceso explaining that the National Commission took over the case (en ejercicio de su facultad de atracción) from the local commission because federal agents were involved. The CDHCM page, unfortunately, doesn't seem to keep an archive of its press releases, or at least not from that far back. Moscow Mule (talk) 23:36, 15 July 2024 (UTC)
