The lawsuit settled for $1.5 million, not $700,000. Atari released plenty of consoles in 1976. The VCS was not ready in 1976. Magnavox’s lawyer testified in 1985 that Atari shared details of the VCS per the settlement. The Odyssey 100 and 200 were not separate projects. The 100 was a cheaper version of the 200 for price protection. So yes, pure fantasy. undo Tag: Manual revert

The information linked with direct interviews from Ralph Baer along with works by respected game historians and is well documented. The lawsuit proved the patents for video game consoles were valid (US Patent 3728480), and set precedence for lawsuits and licensing agreements well into the late 80s. The suit is also referenced in the Nintendo lawsuit. undo Tags: Undo Reverted
