Fox Rothschild LLP is a national law firm with more than 550 attorneys practicing in 18 offices coast to coast. Lawyers at the firm provide a full range of legal services to public and private companies – from family-run businesses to multinational corporations. They also represent charitable, medical and educational institutions both in the United States and in more than 50 countries worldwide.[3]

The firm ranks among the top 200 law firms nationally, according to The American Lawyer.

History & Growth

The firm was founded in Philadelphia in 1907 with two attorneys. Serving clients for more than a century, the firm has been climbing the ranks of the nation’s 250 largest firms for many years, according to The National Law Journal. It currently ranks #111 on the AmLaw 200 list[4] and in The National Law Journal 250 list.

In recent years, Fox Rothschild has experienced significant growth, opening offices that expand the breadth of the firm's geographical presence and deepening the provision of legal services it offers to clients.[5]

In 2011, the firm joined forces with Los Angeles intellectual property firm The Chan Law Group to further serve clients’ international needs. It also expanded its Washington, DC presence with the addition of eight construction and government contracts attorneys.[6]

In 2012, the firm opened an office in Denver, CO – where the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office will soon open a new facility – expanding its litigation and intellectual property capabilities. The firm also opened a conference center in Cherry Hill, New Jersey to help meet the needs of clients and provide a central point for those between the firm’s Philadelphia and Atlantic City offices.[7]

Also in 2012, the firm welcomed retired New Jersey Supreme Court Judge Virginia Long, who joined as counsel in the Princeton office.[8]

In February 2013, Fox welcomed a team of eight attorneys from Day Pitney LLP, expanding its real estate practice presence in New Jersey. The new team spearheaded the opening of the firm’s Morristown, New Jersey, office in July 2013. The addition gives Fox four offices in New Jersey, where it is currently ranked #6 among New Jersey law firms by the New Jersey Law Journal.[9]

Ranking and Recognition

Fox Rothschild’s New Jersey attorneys were recently featured in the New Jersey Law Journal for their pro bono work. A survey conducted by the NJLJ found that in 2011, Fox’s New Jersey attorneys nearly tripled their total hours of pro bono work from 2010, from 1,960 to 6,200.

Fox Rothschild had a 7.3 percent increase in revenue from about $239.5 million in 2010 to about $257 million in 2011. Firmwide Managing Partner Mark Silow attributed the rise to its growing practice areas and the addition of laterals throughout the year, notably in Washington, DC and downtown Los Angeles.

Fox Rothschild has continually delivered revenue increases each year since the recession hit in 2008, despite the downward trend among other Philadelphia-based law firms.
