This read like the authors of the study plugged the results of their paper to increase their publication's visibility. Their results are actually using a generalized growth curve, that, in principle may reduce to Gompertz growth, but does not in their study. Therefore, apart from the paper-promotion, the section was off-topic. The Gompertz growth curve is an inaccurate model for epidemic growth. undo
