The Great Mall/Main Transit Center is operated by Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority (VTA). This transit center serves as a transfer point between VTA's Alum Rock-Santa Teresa line and bus lines operated by VTA and AC Transit.

The station was opened in 2004 as part of the second phase of VTA's Tasman East light rail extension.[1]

The transit center will be closed and the majority of the bus lines moved to Milpitas BART station when it opens in 2017.

Location

The Great Mall/Main light rail station is an elevated platform located at the intersection of Great Mall Parkway (leading to the Great Mall of the Bay Area) and Main Street in Milpitas, California. The bus depot portion of the transit center is located at street level, just east of the light rail station.
