Proposition to participate

[edit]

User:Csisc, User:GeekEmad, I have started the phonology for this IPA help. I inspired myself from the maltese IPA help, so it is still missing a few things, if you see something missing (and there are) please notify me here or add them directly, thank you.Tounsimentounes (talk) 20:05, 19 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Tounsimentounes: You have done an excellent work. However, you missed emphatic consonants and several foreign vowel phonemes. Please add them very soon. Yours Sincerely, --Csisc (talk) 09:04, 20 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Affricates

[edit]

Do the sources explicitly state that /dz, tʃ/ are affricates [d͡z, t͡ʃ] and not consonant clusters [d]+[z], [t]+[ʃ]? --Mahmudmasri (talk) 19:53, 27 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Mahmudmasri: The sources has identified the existence of affricates [d͡z, t͡ʃ] in Tunisian, Algerian and Moroccan Arabic and has given many important examples for it. However, consonant clusters can exist but in a few particular situations. That is why we have not considered them in this help work. Thank you very much. --Csisc (talk) 15:58, 20 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Move discussion in progress

[edit]
