Idinvest Partners, founded under the name AGF Private Equity, S.A in 1997, is a European private equity and venture capital firm. Operating as part of Allianz until 2010, Idinvest Partners then became independent.[1] Idinvest Partners is based in Paris, France and has further offices in Frankfurt, Germany,[2][3] Dubai, Madrid, Spain and Shanghai, China.[4][5]

Since its inception, Idinvest Partners has invested in more than 4,000 European businesses. With an excess of €7 billion in assets under management,[4] Idinvest Partners focuses on the financing of small and medium-sized European enterprises at various stages of growth.[1]

Idinvest Partners has been named Best Private Equity Team (Deloitte 2012 Technology Fast 50 Award) and awarded The French LP Gold Award 2012 at Private Equity Exchange.[6]

History

1997: Founded by AGF (Allianz) as AGF Private Equity.[7]

2015: Idinvest Partners closes its second SME senior debt fund, Idinvest Dette Senior II (IDS II), at €400 million.[8][9][10]

2017: Frankfurt office launches. Shanghai office launches.[2][3][4][5][11] Idinvest Partners awarded private debt mandate by France’s Fonds de Réserve pour les Retraites (FRR) and launches a new vehicle to finance industrial assets.[12]

2018 : In February 2018, the private equity firm Eurazeo agreed to acquire a majority stake in Idinvest Partners, creating a private equity firm with more than $15 billion in assets.[13] In May 2018, Idinvest Partners closed its fourth direct lending fund, Idinvest Private Debt IV at €715 million.[14]

Portfolio

Idinvest Partners have financed businesses at various stages of growth. Idinvest has a particular focus on the IT sector, which include Deezer, a music streaming platform,[15][16][17] Criteo, a technology company specialising in digital performance marketing,[15][16][17] Happn, a location based app dating tool,[18] Dailymotion, a video sharing platform,[19] Sigfox, a telecommunications network provider that connectsobjects,[15][16][17] Withings, a health technology business[20] and Vestaire Collective, a giant e-commerce platform for clothes and fashion accessories,[21] Bimedia, a provider of retail software solutions and terminals,[22] and Vision Systems, developing and manufacturing complete and tailored solutions.[23] IdInvest have Artificial Intelligence companies in their portfolio, such as Neurala, an AI start-up with ties to NASA,[24] Stanley Robotics, a robotic valet service[25] and Clustree, an AI powered recruitment service.[26] Fintech investments are also included, with Kantox, a currency and risk management solutions company [27] and biotech and health investments, with DNA Script, a synthetic DNA manufacturer.[28]

Eurazeo and Idinvest Partners reach deal In 2018 to create a private equity firm with more than €15 billion ($18.7 billion) in assets under management.[29]

Idinvest Partners launched a barometer to track the UK population’s attitude towards entrepreneurship in February 2017.[30][31][32][33][34][35][36][37]

Team

Idinvest Partners SA is led by founders Christophe Bavière, CEO, President and Managing Partner since 2001, and Benoist Grossmann, Managing Director and Managing Partner since 2003. Additional key executives include Nicolas de Loiray, Partner and Chief Financial Officer, Sylviane Guyonnet, Partner and Chief Operating & Control Officer, and Pauline Crochard, Legal and Compliance Officer.[1]
